Her work focuses on portraying the complex Black experience through self-portraits and depictions of people of color in evocative settings. By utilizing saturated colors and powerful compositions with oil paint on canvas, Nia reveals the beauty within profound contexts, fostering empathy and sparking meaningful conversations about beauty, identity, depression, inner-city life, and womanhood.
Through her art, Nia aims to serve as a voice and mirror for those in the Black community who feel unseen and unheard. She is dedicated to inspiring and supporting emerging artists and children from inner-city backgrounds through artistic representation and non-profit work. By intertwining aesthetic appeal with intentional storytelling, Nia hopes to inspire compassion and drive change, contributing to a more inclusive and empathetic art world.
