To Cry Rivers and Oceans
This piece is a self portrait, and a depiction of my own grieiving process when I lost my best friend. This is a visualization to a poem.
"But there are days when I dont lie to myself,
and I simply fall apart remaining broken,
'cause you aren't here to sew me back together,
Keeping me in tact like you used to,
So my healing has become a brand new feeling,
Because although the wounds aren't fresh they still bleed,
But I am no longer drowning myself in the rivers and oceans I've cried,
I now instead, tread the waves of your river."
- Rest in Peace, Shavon Reid. You are forever loved and remembered.
